About Pauline Peters
Pauline is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She received her Master’s in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University and completed a nine month internship at MyLife Counselling under the clinical supervision of our Director Mark Nixon. We had so much positive feedback from the couples and individuals Pauline worked with that we invited her to join MyLife Counselling as a Registered Psychotherapist.
Pauline has a gentle and down-to-earth approach with her clients. She strikes a balance between providing non-judgmental support and practical skills to help individuals overcome such issues as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, grief and loss.
Pauline is especially experienced and skilled helping couples from all walks of life. As a trained couples counsellor, she has helped countless couples improve their communication, work through betrayal, and rebuild their trust, intimacy, and connection.
Pauline brings with her a wealth of life experiences. She has worked and volunteered in diverse settings including humanitarian and volunteer work in Kenya and South Korea. She helped developed school feeding programs, helped with childcare in orphanages, built school classrooms, and taught English as a second language. She has also been involved in supporting families through co-leading support groups for couples and new and young mothers.
Pauline is also a working mother of three children and understands the practical and emotional challenges of balancing her professional and family life. Having survived three traumatic births, she also knows parenthood does not always go as planned. Pauline draws from her professional and personal experience in helping individuals and couples through life’s often unpredictable challenges.
When she is not in the office helping others, Pauline loves spending time with her family, travelling, running, and baking!
