ADHD Therapy in Guelph

Are you or a loved one with ADHD seeking resources?

Consider how therapy may be helpful to you.

We have therapists on staff with lived experience being neurodivergent, and training in affirmative therapies.  We understand that ADHD is part of the whole that makes you, you!  The focus of our neurodiversity affirming care is on improving your internal experiences and lowering levels of distress rather than modifying behaviours to fit social norms or expectations.

We provide ADHD focused therapy to adults, children, and youth.

ADHD Challenges We Can Help You With…

Executive Dysfunction: Difficulty planning, organizing or initiating daily tasks, difficulty maintaining focus and completing tasks, forgetfulness. Executive dysfunction can impact various areas such as work/school performance (meeting deadlines, maintaining organization), performance of health behaviours (showering, brushing teeth, etc.,), and others.

Emotional Dysregulation: feelings of overwhelm or emotional distress, seemingly out of proportion to the situation (e.g. differences in sensory processing and needs leading to overwhelm or sensory seeking, rejection sensitivity, intense changes in mood)

Impacts to Social Relationships: Help those closest to you learn about and understand your inner world. How they can helpfully accommodate your needs and respect boundaries; while learning how to manage emotional distress and use positive communication.

Later-in-Life Diagnoses and ADHD Self-Discovery: We understand that there are many challenges and complex feelings surrounding the discovery of neurodivergence and ADHD later-in-life. You may not have gotten the helpful supports or understanding you required. Work through internalized negative messaging often associated with undiagnosed ADHD (e.g. being labelled as “lazy”, “distracted”, “forgetful”, or “not living up to your potential”). We will work alongside you to foster self-acceptance and understanding of your personal strengths and unique ways of being and experiencing.
