About Leandro Bastos
Leandro Bastos is a Registered Psychotherapist and member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. He completed his Masters in clinical counselling at Tyndale University College in Toronto. Leandro provides counselling to English and Portuguese speaking clients.
Leandro completed his internship at Family Counselling and Support Services in Guelph where he had the privilege of working with a wide range of adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, anger management, depression, grief, relationship issues and cultural transitions. He also provided counselling to women who experienced domestic violence and abuse through the Violence Against Women program and co-facilitated the Partner Assault Response Program (PAR). For the past 16 years, Leandro has also been volunteering with adolescents and young adults at camps and other activities. He enjoys helping youth through life stages and teaching them about relationships and social skills.
Leandro has a calm, grounded, and soothing presence. He cares very much about creating a safe and supportive relationship with the individuals and couples he’s working with. He draws from a number of therapeutic approaches including specialized training in depth psychology and Gottman Method Couples counselling. Through his deeper approach to counselling, Leandro helps his clients understand the root of their anxiety, unhelpful habits, and relationship issues. With this insight, he encourages people to develop healthier ways to not only overcome their struggles but also build new self-confidence and skills to carry forward in their lives.
When he’s not in the office , Leandro enjoys spending time with his wife of 10 years and his miniature schnauzer hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities.
