About Jenn Greenwood

Jenn Greenwood is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association student member. Jenn is currently acquiring her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is completing her internship at MyLife Counselling under the supervision of Emily Hansen. Jenn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature and Civilization from the University of Western Ontario. Jenn is able to provide reduced intern rates to her clients to make therapy more accessible.

Passionate about the value of connection, the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and the freedom to be yourself, Jenn offers a genuine, warm, down-to-earth presence and a compassionate space to explore life’s challenges. Jenn has spent a decade working from a harm reduction lens as an Outreach Worker in the Guelph community, supporting those experiencing homelessness and living with complex addiction and mental health issues. Jenn’s experience at various community agencies has given her opportunities to support individuals through a range of issues, such as emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, substance use, and life transitions. Jenn’s professional and personal experience gives her a robust understanding of the importance of respect, empathy, and understanding in providing holistic, individualized, and person-centered care. Working from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and non-stigmatizing lens, Jenn believes that how we do is often more impactful than what we do.

Jenn aims to create a non-judgmental, safe space for clients to experience connection, explore challenges and strengths, and foster healthy changes based on their unique goals. Jenn trusts in the transformational power of walking alongside clients in their journey to empowerment, personal growth, and resiliency.

A range of evidence-based therapeutic theories informs Jenn’s approach, including Humanistic, Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Jenn understands how difficult it can be to seek help and commits to working together to find the path toward wellness that fits the individual client.

In her personal life, Jenn recharges through her close connections to family and friends, enjoys yoga, walks in nature with her dog, and travelling to fill her cup. Her favorite humans to spend time with are her niece and nephew, who keep her young and on her toes.
